Status & Success Rate > Success Rate > Success Rate - All Jobs report

This last of the single-line success rate reports give the highest number since it shows at least one success per client stream. Meaning as long as one job is successful despite any number of retries, it is a 100% success. This report typically shows overall exposure to someone outside the backup team. A 100% on this report indicates that everything was backed up even though it may have taken a number of retries.

This report shows the Success rate by job level across products, domains, clients, policies and business level views.

The following table shows the filters for Success Rate - All Jobs report and how you can use these filters to view specific data in the report.

The value selection for Job Type is mandatory. By default, Backup jobs are shown in the report. You can select one or more job types like Archive, Backup, Restore etc. to view data for the selected job types.

Success Rate

Consider Partially Successful Job as Successful

The default selection is Yes.

Select No if you do not want to consider partially successful jobs as successful.

Selecting Yes or No may impact the Success Rate percentage that is shown in the report. Consider a policy that has 5 successful jobs, 3 partially successful jobs, and 2 failed jobs. If you select the value as Yes, the Success Rate is 80%. However if you select the value as No, the Success Rate is 50%.

Example of filter usage: Run the Success Rate - All Jobs report for a specific product like Backup Exec to get an idea of the success rate for Backup Exec jobs.

The following report enhancements have been made for Success Rate - All Jobs report:

  • The option Next has been removed from the drop-down menu for Relative Timeframe. You now cannot enter a relative timeframe like Next 2 weeks. This is because the report does not support any futuristic data.

  • The following options have been removed from Time Frame Group By selection:

    • Days of week Average

    • Days of week total

    • Hours of day Average

    • Hours of day Total

    • Minutes

    • Month of year Average

    • Month of year total

    • Quarter

    • Quarter of year Average

    • Quarter of year total

  • The following Report On options have been added under Backup Job Attributes:

    • Job Status (Complete and Partial only)

    • Job Status (Complete only)

  • Two new filters called Schedule and Success Rate have been added.

  • A new checkbox named Target Performance has been added in the Modify Display Options page under Timeline Chart Properties. You can use the Target Performance option to specify where a report draws the target line, with which you can compare the actual performance shown. The Target Performance option allows you to specify the target for Y1 axis. In case you set a value of say 100 for Y1 axis and run the report, you will see a straight line parallel to X-axis and the value as 100 on Y1 axis. Using this option, you can easily compare the actual performance with the target performance.
