About backing up and restoring the License Management Service data
It is recommended to take regular backup of the License Management Service data to prevent loss of data in the event of a failure. Data backup is a must before any major upgrade activity.
All hosts and Kubernetes information, all license and entitlements information, all reports, faults, and activity logs data is backed up. The license key which is used for registration of License Management Service is also backed up if the file is saved on the same host. The entire data is stored in a tar.gz file in the location that you have specified while running the backup script.
It is recommended that the backup is taken on another host and not on which License Management Service is installed.
Note:
During the backup process the License Management Service URL or the console is inaccessible.
Use the lms_bkup.pl script to back up and also to restore the data.
The procedure to take a backup and then restore the data is the same, except the --backup and --restore commands.
If License Management Service is installed along with InfoScale Operations Manager, then you need to take a backup of both and also restore both separately. For more information on back and restore operations on InfoScale Operations Manager, refer to the InfoScale Operations Manager documentation on SORT.
