Re-registering the product key
During the registration process the registration key is locked with the host name on which License Management Service is installed and configured. Later if the registration key is corrupted or deleted, then you need to regenerate and re-register the key. For re-registration, you can use the backup copy of the .slf file that was generated while registering for the fist time. You can also generate a new registration file on VEMS portal if required.
During the period between the corruption or deletion of the registration key and the re-registration process, you can continue to perform operations, however an alert message is displayed on the UI at every page load.
To re-register the product registration key
- Log on to the License Management Service console from the host on which the registration key details need to be refreshed.
- Click Settings > Product registration and do one of the following.
To generate a new registration key, click Generate host lock string and then log in to the VEMS portal.
If you have an existing host lock string, then log in to the VEMS portal.
- On the VEMS portal, use the new or existing host lock string to register License Management Service, and download the registration key file (.slf).
- On the License Management Service Product registration panel, in Apply registration key field, click Browse to locate and upload the registration key file.
- Click Apply.
