Backing up License Management Service data
You can regularly back up the License Management Service data to prevent data loss in the event of a failure or before an upgrade activity using the lms_bkup.pl script.
To take a backup of License Management Service data on Linux
- On the host where you plan to back up the data, log on as a user with root privileges.
- Locate the
lms_bkup.plscript at the following location:installdir/VRTSlms/config/adm
- Run the script at the command prompt:
/opt/VRTSsfmh/bin/perl /opt/VRTSlms/config/adm/lms_bkup.pl --backup /dir
Where,
installdiris the installation directory anddiris the location that you specify for creating the backup. Ensure that the specified location has adequate disk space to store the backup. You can specify any location except the following:/var/opt/VRTSsfmh
/var/opt/VRTSlms
/opt/VRTSsfmh
/opt/VRTSlms
To take a backup of License Management Service data on Windows
- On the host where you plan to back up the data, log on as a user with administrator privileges.
- Locate the
lms_bkup.plscript at the following location:C:\Program files\Veritas\VRTSlms\config\adm
- Run the script at the command prompt:
"C:\Program files\Veritas\VRTSsfmh\bin\perl.exe"
"C:\Program files\Veritas\VRTSlms\config\adm\lms_bkup.pl" --backup \dir
