You may browse the course catalog as a guest to view available courses. Click Sign In at the top of the catalog page to sign in or to create a new account. You will need to sign in to view class schedules, to see local currency pricing, and to register for a class.

Veritas employees and Veritas Partners must follow special instructions for creating a new user account:

What type of access will I have to course materials after the course is completed?

Training Methods

What is Instructor-Led Training (ILT)?

ILT is an in-person, scheduled training class led by an instructor and held at one of our Veritas classroom locations or at one of our Veritas Authorized Training Partner locations. ILT includes instructor-led lectures, expert mentoring, interaction with peers in the classroom, and hands-on labs. Learn more.

What is Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT)?

VILT is an online learning environment that recreates the traditional classroom learning experience with live, interactive sessions with the Veritas or Veritas Authorized Training Partner instructor, hands-on labs and expert mentoring. VILT includes scheduled lectures that take place at specific times, but you attend these lectures virtually via webcast. Learn more.

What is The Veritas Learning Lab?

The Veritas Learning Lab platform gives you access to a set of real-world, hands-on lab activities on the product of your choice. These lab activities were developed by Veritas product experts and are the same lab activities that you would receive in a formal training class. The lab activities provide guided, step-by-step instructions and are modularized, so that you can focus on the activities that are most important to you. You receive six months of access time to the Veritas Learning Lab of your choice. This means that you can work through the lab activities on your own time, around your busy schedule, and the labs are accessible from anywhere that you have an internet connection.

What are the technical requirements for a VILT or Veritas Learning Lab course?

Test your virtual classroom and lab access from the location and computer you will be using for the upcoming training.

  1. Virtual class test meeting. See WebEx System Requirements for virtual classroom requirements details. Applies to VILT only.
  2. Virtual lab test. This link will connect you to a sample virtual lab running in the lab portal. Applies to both VILT and Veritas Learning Lab courses.

How and where are the exams administered?

The exams are computer-based and delivered only at Pearson VUE testing centers.

How do I register and pay for a Veritas certification exam and what is the cost?

To register for a Veritas certification exam, login or create a Veritas CertTracker account. Exam fees are payable by credit card or by voucher. View the step-by-step instructions on how to register.

View the step-by-step instructions on how to purchase exam vouchers.

The cost is $225 USD per exam, or your country’s currency equivalent. Veritas reserves the right to change exam fees at any time. Always check the delivery vendor’s website to verify exams costs, schedules, and locations.

NOTE: Pearson VUE does not accept credit card payments in the following countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Benin, Cameroon, Gambia, Ghana, Lebanon, Nigeria, Pakistan, Senegal, Tanzania, Togo, and Uganda.

  • Candidates in these countries may arrange for payment directly with the Test Center where they plan to test or purchase a voucher and pay by bank transfer.
  • Since Pearson delivers Veritas exams via the third party channel, each Test Center establishes their own guidelines surrounding the payment methods they will accept. Most centers in these countries are prepared to assist these candidates to overcome this restriction.
What is the CertTracker account used for?

Your CertTracker account is used for registering for exams and keeping track of all of your Veritas certification exams and certification statuses.

Candidates are responsible for updating their personal information in the tracking system to ensure receipt of official correspondence.

You can verify your credentials to any email address by logging in to CertTracker and selecting the “Publish Credentials” option. Although we provide electronic certificates and the ability for a successful candidate to print a copy of that certificate, we stress that the only true verification of certification credentials comes from a certified individual securely publishing their credential directly to the interested party (i.e., manager, recruiter) through this method.

How will I be notified that I have passed an exam?

Pearson VUE provides you with instant results at the completion of your exam. A score report will be printed and given to you before you leave the testing center. Candidates are also able to view exam progress by logging into CertTracker

When and how do I receive a certificate stating that I am Veritas Certified and what will I receive?

Once Veritas has received your exam results, you will receive an email notification that your certificate is ready for download in CertTracker. Once you have logged in to CertTracker, click on "Printable Documents" to download or print your certificate. Please disable your browser's Pop-Up Blocker before viewing, downloading or printing the certificate and then click on "Print Now". Your certificate will open in a new window.

Paper copies of certificates are not mailed out.

How long is a Veritas certification designation valid? When do certifications expire?

Veritas Certified Specialist certifications have no expiration date. When certification verification is required, Veritas will identify the product version, thus distinguishing between those who have upgraded certifications and those who haven’t. Veritas highly recommends recertification to remain current with Veritas technology and trends. View the listing of current Veritas Certified Specialist exams.

If I do not pass an exam, can I find out which questions I got wrong?

No. Veritas maintains this policy to ensure security over the exam questions.

How many times can I take an exam, is there a waiting period, and is there a cost to retake an exam?

If you do not pass an exam on your first attempt, you must wait at least 3 days (72 hours) before a second attempt. If you do not pass an exam on your second attempt, then you must wait at least 2 weeks (14 days) between each additional attempt. The same cost applies to each attempt.

How can I find out what topics an exam will cover and are there practice exams available?

Certification requirements, exam topics, and recommended training is available for each certification exam. Sample exams are also available. Each sample exam consists of multiple-choice items. For more information on specific certifications, please see the certification exam details.

Is training required in order to become Veritas Certified?

Veritas strongly recommends taking specific courses prior to attempting a certification exam. These courses are not required and are available for those who do not meet the minimum level of competence as tested by the exam. Veritas also recommends a minimum of 6 months experience using the referenced product(s) before attempting an exam.

Are the exams based on current Veritas product versions and how do I know which software release an exam covers?

Exams are developed for the current version of the Veritas product release at the time of development and are named accordingly. Exams may be updated after significant new versions are released, however, new exams may not always correspond to the software release schedule.

How are passing scores established?

Although it is intuitive to think that an appropriate passing score for an examination should be 70 or 75 percent correct based on personal experiences taking classroom tests, these arbitrary values may not reflect the performance level expected of the “minimally qualified candidate” given the difficulty of the test. For example, if the examination is very easy, a passing score of 70 may be too low. However, if the examination is very difficult, this same value may be too high.

Establishing passing scores requires the application of systematic procedures that consider the defined performance level definition of the “minimally qualified candidate” and the difficulty of the examination. Before the final passing scores are established, they are evaluated to ensure that the available validity evidence supports their use for the intended purpose of distinguishing the “minimally qualified candidates” from those who are not yet qualified. This systematic method is used to establish and maintain the fairness, validity and reliability of exams.

In order to ensure the value of the Veritas certification program, Veritas routinely updates exams with new questions. In these cases the passing percentage could change per exam from time to time as these unannounced updates occur.

When will certification exams retire?

Many of the Veritas Certification exams will be replaced by a newer product version of the exam as technology and trends continue to evolve. Legacy exams may be phased out from our website after a newer version of the exam is released. Legacy exams published with Pearson VUE may still be available on their website, as Veritas recognizes that legacy product versions will continue to hold their value in the marketplace as long as there is a demand from the industry.
