New pre-installation checks added
NetBackup uses a pre-installation program that performs checks at the beginning of installations or upgrades to try to make sure that the operation will be successful before proceeding. The checks that are performed were developed from customer input on previous problems that were encountered during installations and upgrades.
Ten new networking and configuration checks were added for NetBackup 8.2. Veritas can update the checker whenever new customer feedback is received. Refreshes are not dependent on a NetBackup release. If your server can connect to telemetry.veritas.com, NetBackup automatically updates the checker with the latest version when the installation or the upgrade starts.
