NetBackup licensing enhancements
NetBackup 8.2 includes these licensing enhancements:
NEVC licensing support for nbdeployutil
Smart Meter supports the NetBackup Enterprise Virtual Client (NEVC) licensing model only for customers who have NetBackup 8.2 master servers at this time. NEVC licensing is based on the total number of CPU sockets of a hypervisor. When you set the license type as NEVC, nbdeployutil captures NEVC usage information and generates a licensing report during its automated or scheduled run. This NEVC information is sent to Smart Meter. For more information about NEVC licensing, refer to the NetBackup licensing guide.
Traditional, NEVC, Capacity - NDMP and BigData, and NetBackup Platform Base Complete Edition with Flex Licensing support in Smart Meter

The nbdeployutil utility sends usage information for these licensing types that are displayed on the Smart Meter portal.
The nbdeployutil utility does not support Complete Edition with Flexible Licensing at this time, and nbdeployutil does not create flex reports or a JSON file. NetBackup sends the NetBackup Platform Base Complete Edition usage information to Smart Meter which is further converted to Flex licensing support usage. Smart Meter displays both the actual usage of the customer and the converted usage for Complete Edition with Flexible Licensing.
