Enhancements for the Microsoft SQL Server agent
This release of NetBackup includes these enhancements for the Microsoft SQL Server agent:
Support for availability groups with the SQL Server Intelligent Policy
Support was added for the advanced, basic, and read-scale availability databases with the SQL Server Intelligent Policy.
Restore performance improvements
To the NetBackup MS SQL Client user interface, the ability to filter backup images by database name was added. Also, general performance improvements were made to the restore interface. Together, these enhancements significantly improve the speed for browsing and selecting backup images for the recovery of a known database.
Transaction log backups while incremental or full backups are active
Scheduling algorithms now allow the administrator to schedule concurrent transaction log backups with full or differential backups. This change eliminates the need to create separate policies for transaction log and full or differential backups, and it simplifies recovery.
See the NetBackup for Microsoft SQL Server Administrator's Guide for more details.
