Software activation

Customers can download Veritas software via Licensing Portal. In order to download the software, you will need a MyVeritas account, and this account must be a member of the Licensing Portal account for the entitlement you wish to deploy.

Veritas software products require activation by entering a license key installation process of the software. A license key can be a string-based key or a file-based key.  In order to acquire your license keys, you will need a MyVeritas account, and be a member of the License Portal account for the entitlement you wish to deploy.

What is the Licensing Portal?

The Veritas Licensing Portal is an online tool that provides customers with the ability to view and manage their entitlements. For on-premise software entitlements, the Licensing Portal provides the customer with the ability to download their software, and to acquire their keys. To access the Licensing Portal, a customer must have a MyVeritas account, and they must have access privileges to the Licensing Portal account associated with their entitlements. To access the Licensing Portal login into MyVeritas and select the Licensing tab. 

What are the functions of the Licensing Portal?

  • Home – See recently added entitlements, and recent notifications
  • Entitlements – View entitlements, download software, generate license keys, and return license keys.
  • Administration – View and manage Portal members.
  • Enterprise Flexible – Gives Enterprise Flexible customers the ability to draw down and manage licenses against their Enterprise Flexible contract.
  • Registration Management – Allows OEM customers to convert vouchers into licenses, as well as retail customers to register their entitlements.

Who should use the Licensing Portal?

Customers are the intended users of the Licensing Portal. Customers may delegate use of the Licensing Portal to the channel partner who sold them the product, who would then use the Licensing Portal to acquire the software and license keys. The software and license keys must be provided to the customer for product installation and activation.

How do I access my download for my software?
  1. Login into MyVeritas.
  2. Select the Licensing tab to access the Licensing Portal.
  3. Select the Entitlement tab to get the Entitlement view.
  4. Using the Entitlement search function, locate the Entitlement you wish to deploy.
  5. Click on the Entitlement ID link to access the software.
  6. Select either the Current Version or the Previous Version tab to get to the view that has the version of the software you wish to deploy.
  7. Click the Download button for the version wish to deploy and follow the steps to download the software.

How do I access my license keys for my software?
  1. Login into MyVeritas.
  2. Select the Licensing tab to access the Licensing Portal.
  3. Select the Entitlement tab to get the Entitlement view.
  4. Using the Entitlement search function, locate the Entitlement you wish to deploy.
  5. Click on the Entitlement ID link to access the software.
  6. Select either the Current Version or the Previous Version tab to get to the view that has the version of the software you wish to deploy.
  7. Click the Get Key button for the version you wish to deploy, and follow the steps to generate the license keys.
