Customers download Veritas products and generate license keys via the Veritas Entitlement Management System (VEMS).

The Veritas Entitlement Management System (VEMS) is an entitlement management portal that provides access to entitlements purchased from Veritas. Entitlements are created in the Entitlement Owner's VEMS Account by the order fulfillment process. Once an Entitlement has been created, Users of the VEMS account can access the Entitlement information, download software, and generate license keys associated with the Entitlement.

To access VEMS, you must have a Veritas account and be an active User of the VEMS Account that holds the Entitlements that you need to access. A Veritas account may be created for you automatically as part of the order fulfillment process. If one has been created for you, you will receive an email from Veritas with your login information. If you did not receive an email with your login information, then you will need to work with your VEMS Administrator, or Customer Care, as they will need to assist you with access to VEMS.

To access VEMS, click the Veritas Support 'Licensing' option.

For more information on the Veritas Entitlement Management System, please see the Veritas Entitlement Management System FAQ and the User Guide.

The VEMS User Guide is available on Veritas Support - https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.100040083. The User Guide is also available as the VEMS online Help. Click '?' on the main menu when logged into VEMS.

An Entitlement is a right to use or access a product or service that is granted by Veritas to a customer or to a Veritas partner.

Entitlements are typically created by the order fulfillment process where orders are fulfilled directly to the customer's VEMS Account listed on the electronic certificate as the Entitlement Owner. The certificate is delivered as a PDF attachment to the order confirmation email sent to the contacts listed on the order.

To access VEMS, you must have a Veritas account and be an active User of the VEMS Account that holds the Entitlements.

To log into VEMS:

  1. Open a web browser and proceed to Veritas Support (https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US.html)
  2. Click ‘Licensing’
  3. Enter your Veritas account credentials. If you do not have a Veritas account, click ‘Register Now’ to create a new account. The email address for this new account must be an active VEMS User of the VEMS Accounts that are holding the Entitlements of interest.

Once you have logged into VEMS, click ‘Accounts’ on the main menu to review the Accounts that you may access. Click ‘Entitlements’ on the main menu to review the Entitlements that you have access to. If you get a screen that says that you are not associated with any Accounts, or you are not able to locate the Entitlements that you need to access, then you need to work with your VEMS Account administrator to add you to the Accounts that hold the Entitlements you need to access. For more information, see the VEMS online Help or the VEMS User Guide.

License keys/files can be generated by Users who have either the 'Administrator' or the 'Generate License Keys' privilege within a VEMS Account. Users with the ability to generate license keys can generate licence keys/files for any Entitlement within the Account. The only exception is when an Entitlement has been added to an Entitlement Group. Only Administrators and Users (with the ability to generate license keys) that have been granted access to the Entitlement Group can generate license keys/files for grouped Entitlements. For more information, see the VEMS online Help or the VEMS User Guide.
