Be sure that the blue tab on the connector in the appliance port points down.
- Connect the other end of this cable to port A in the top I/O module of the storage shelf.
The blue tab on the SAS cable in port A should be on the same side of the cable as the SAS label when connected.
- Connect another SAS-3 cable to port B in the top I/O module of the first storage shelf. Connect the other end of the cable to port A in the top I/O module in the second storage shelf.
The blue tab on the SAS-3 cable should be on the same side of the cable as the SAS-3 label when the cable is connected.
- Connect a SAS-3 cable to port B of the top I/O module in the second shelf. Connect the other end of the cable to port A in the top I/O module in the third shelf.
The blue tab on the SAS-3 cable should be on the same side of the cable as the SAS-3 label when the cable is connected.
- Connect a SAS-3 cable to port A of the bottom I/O module in the third shelf.
The blue tab on the SAS-3 cable should be on the same side of the cable as the SAS-3 label when the cable is connected.
- Connect the other end of the cable to the right port in the appliance RAID PCIe card.
Be sure that the blue tab on the connector in port A points up. The blue tab in the appliance port connector should point down
- Connect a SAS-3 cable from port B of the bottom I/O module in the third shelf to port A in the bottom I/O module in the second shelf.
The blue tab on the SAS-3 cable should be on the same side of the cable as the SAS-3 label when the cable is connected.
- Connect a SAS-3 cable to port B of the bottom I/O module in the second shelf. Connect the other end of the cable to port A on the bottom I/O module in the first shelf.
The blue tab on the SAS-3 cable should be on the same side of the cable as the SAS-3 label when the cable is connected.
Next, connect network and power cables. Turn on the storage shelves and the appliance per the required sequence. Verify that all units function correctly.
