Viewing events
You can monitor Arctera Insight Information Governance recent system events on the
page. The report displays entries for all system events. These events include the following information about an event:Time
Severity
Event summary
Arctera Insight Information Governance server where the event originated
The user if any performing the action
The object for which the event originated
To view system events
- In the Management Console, click Settings > Health & Monitoring > Events.
Do one of the following:
To view all system events, in the Management Console, click Settings > Health & Monitoring > Events.
To view events pertaining to a configured filer, in the Management Console, click Settings > Filers > Select Action > Event Log.
To view events pertaining to a configured Web Application, in the Management Console, click Settings > SharePoint Web Applications > Select Action > Event Log.
To view events pertaining to configured servers, in the Management Console, click Settings > Servers > Select Action > Event Log.
To view events pertaining to a share, navigate to the filer details page, select the Monitored Shares tab, select the share and click Actions > Event Log.
To view events pertaining to a site collection, navigate to the Web application details page, select the Monitored Site Collections tab, select the site collection and click Actions > Event Log.
To view events pertaining to the success or failure of full and incremental scans for a selected time period, use the Dashboard on the Settings tab of the console. On the bar-graph, click the bar pertaining to the day, week, month, or year for which you want to view events.
A list of recent system events appears.
- In the Management Console, click Settings > Events.
Do one of the following:
To view all system events, in the Management Console, click Settings > Events.
To view events pertaining to a configured filer, in the Management Console, click Settings > Filers > Select Action > Event Log.
To view events pertaining to a configured Web Application, in the Management Console, click Settings > SharePoint Web Applications > Select Action > Event Log.
To view events pertaining to configured Information Governance servers, in the Management Console, click Settings > Servers > Select Action > Event Log.
To view events pertaining to a share, navigate to the filer details page, select the Monitored Shares tab, select the share and click Actions > Event Log.
To view events pertaining to a site collection, navigate to the Web application details page, select the Monitored Site Collections tab, select the site collection and click Actions > Event Log.

- You can choose to filter the events further using one or all of the following criteria:
By time
By any text appearing in the event summary
By severity
By the product server on which the event originates
Enter the filter criteria in the relevant fields and click Go.
- Click the Export icon at the bottom of the page to save the data to a
.csv
file. - You can also view the recent events in the Windows Event Viewer application. To access the events, click Application and Services Logs > Information Governance in the left pane. In the Information Governance application event window, select the desired event. Click the Details tab to view the event data. You can verify if the OCSF JSON is published as per the selected event.
Delete events are not processed or fetched, if performed on Folder and Bucket level.
After Rename operation, multiple access events are generated.
All Create activities are listed under Write event logs.
