Configuring Metadata Framework

About Metadata framework

Information Governance provides capability to enrich metadata leveraging CSV input within Information Governance using external attributes from 3rd party systems or CMDBs. This is a scripted solution, and no user interface is present currently. Once ingested, the additional attributes are queryable from custom reporting interface and provides richer data-sets to users to make more informed decisions about data management / governance.

For examples:

  • Customers can leverage metadata framework to include location of their physical estates for location reporting or can add cost of information to perform effective charge back reporting.

  • Customers can also add line of business or cost code related information on shares for business reporting.

This framework can also help in cases for integrating with other systems in an organization, say when a resource name alias needs to be added in reporting.
