Challenge

Increasing threats such as ransomware required a review of the backup environment. Mizkan aimed to enhance their cyber resilience by establishing a backup environment in line with the 3- 2-1 backup rule, including the use of cloud solutions.

Solution

The customer implemented NetBackup Flex Appliance, which features WORM storage units, ensuring stored data cannot be deleted or modified. Veritas Alta Recovery Vault was also used to enhance security by applying deduplication to cloud-stored data and offering encryption during transmission. With seamless cloud replication, the customer established a robust backup system aligned with the 3-2-1 backup rule.

Outcome

Mizkan significantly strengthened their ransomware defenses using a WORM-enabled appliance and a comprehensive backup environment based on the 3-2-1 backup rule. The solution enabled fast backups through advanced deduplication and provided an environment capable of quickly restoring all or individual files, as well as compressing the entire storage volume.
