How to get updates for Backup Exec (BE) - Maintenance Releases, Patch Updates and Hotfixes
SolutionBackup Exec Installation/upgrade media, updates, hot fixes, and tools can be accessed using the Veritas Downloads Center. Backup Exec Licenses must be downloaded from the Veritas Entitlement Management System (VEMS) licensing portal.
Customers are encouraged to upgrade to the latest version of Backup Exec. After an update is applied to the Backup Exec Server, the Remote Agents will need to be redeployed so that they receive the update.
Downloading UpdatesVeritas recommends automatically installing updates with Arctera Update or Veritas Update whenever possible.Updates are released periodically. Maintenance Releases (also known as Patch Updates) are a roll up of all prior updates, patches, or hot fixes. Updates and hot fixes are normally added to Veritas Update (Backup Exec 20 thru 24) Arctera Update (Backup Exec 25), approximately two weeks after release. The previous updates for that Backup Exec version are removed from Veritas Update.
Updates can also be manually downloaded from the Download Center before and after being available in Veritas Update Each Maintenance Release includes all patches and hotfixes up to the date of the Maintenance Release.
