New features/enhancements are included in this release 

• Anomaly Detection. Backups are flagged when anomalies are detected in backup data that doesn’t conform to normal or common patterns. Alerts to changes in your protected data allowing you to react to a potential events
• Enhanced Forever Incremental Backups. Forever Incremental to ReFS B2D uses ReFS Deduplication Cloning Technology. Lowest hardware requirements for Forever Incremental Backups.
• Antivirus Exclusion Recommendations. Antivirus software can cause issues with backups such as job failures, processes locked or relatively poor performance. New alerts with link to recommendations for antivirus scan exclusions to imrpove performance.
• Support for New Cloud Storage Regions. Backup Exec users benefit from cloud storage choices through support for the following cloud storage regions, enabling greater flexibility and economy:
  • AWS Instant retrieval for AWS China, AWS Gov Fips and AWS Gov options
  • SCloud storage regions: Jakarta, Singapore, Vietnam,  Bangkok
  • Chunghwa telecom cloud deduplication

Prerequisites

• Administrative privileges are required to install this Feature Pack. 
• Backup Exec 22.0
• Execute the Installation or patch update logged on as the Backup Exec Service Account or a member of the Administrator group with rights to the SQL instance.

Post requisites

• A full backup is recommended after installing this Feature Pack.
• Remote Agent for Windows Servers will need to be updated after installing this Feature Pack.
• Remote Agent for Linux/Unix Servers (RALUS/RAMS) will need to be updated after installing this Feature Pack.  
• Update SDR media.
• Veritas recommends to reboot the system(s) after applying a Hotfix or Feature Pack.
