Filtering the items in the Review pane

The search and filter options available in the Review pane provide several parameters to filter items for review.

To filter the items in the review pane

  1. In the left navigation pane, click Review.
  2. In the Department drop-down list, do the following steps:

    Note:

The selections are persisted across all login sessions for the logged-in user.

    • In the Mode drop-down list, choose whether to perform a standard review of the items in the review set or an escalation review.

      Note:

Escalation Review mode is available to escalation reviewers only. It lets these reviewers view and change review status of the items that other reviewers have escalated to them for further attention.

    • In the Dept drop-down list, select the department, or a nested department for which you want to display the items in the review set.

    • In the Items drop-down list, select a group of items you want to review.

      The following options are available:

      • Temporary Assignment: This option lets you reserve the specified number of items in the review set. Other reviewers cannot see these items until you have finished work on them.

      • All Items: This option lets you view all the items in the review set, even if they have been assigned to other reviewers. You may duplicate the work of other reviewers if you use this option. Therefore, we recommend that you select this option only if there are no other reviewers working alongside you, or you want to browse the items without marking them.

  3. In the Filter drop-down list, select the facets (item classifications) you want to apply.

If you frequently use the same facet settings to filter the items in the Review pane, you can save them as a preset. In addition to the custom presets, you can use the default predefined presets, such as All Unreviewed, Today's Unreviewed, All Unreviewed Exchange, All Unreviewed Instant Messaging, All Unreviewed Bloomberg, All Unreviewed Domino, and All messages. You can then quickly apply the settings by selecting the preset from the Preset drop-down list.

You can use two additional filters, Filter on Author/Domain and Filter on Subject, in conjunction of other filter facets.

    • Filter on Author/Domain - use this filter to search items for a specific user or email domain. If a domain is specified, then items from all users belonging to that domain will be searched. You cannot enter multiple authors or domains. This can be a full email domain or partial email domain. For example, gmail, gmail.com, or @gmail.com. This feature performs a string search within the author field of items for what is specified in the filter.

    • Filter on Subject - use this filter to search items based on a word or phrase in the subject. This feature performs a string search within the subject field of items for what is specified in the filter.

    Note:

The Author/Domain and Subject filters cannot contain a semicolon (;) or a string of two hyphen marks (--).

Sentiment analysis measures the attitude, opinions, and emotions expressed within any content, message using a combination of natural language processing techniques to provide users with a Sentiment Polarity score for that item. A score in the range of 0 to 100 is assigned, where 0 indicates that the item expresses the negative sentiment, 50 indicates that the item represents the neutral sentiment, and 100 indicates that the item represents the positive sentiment. Depending on how you want to interpret data, you can define and tailor policies with sentiment conditions to detect either ranges or exact sentiment scores in items.
