Enabling communications with the managed Backup Exec server
Enable Communications with the Managed Backup Exec Server lets you enable communications between the central administration server and a managed Backup Exec server. This option brings back the managed Backup Exec server online, and makes it available for job delegation.
When you use Enable Communications with the Managed Backup Exec Server, the following occurs:
The managed Backup Exec server's communications status changes from Disabled to Enabled in the Communications Status column of the Backup Exec server.
The managed Backup Exec server's status change also appears in the Backup Exec Server Status column, which changes from Unavailable to Online.
An icon that represents a fully functioning managed Backup Exec server appears next to the icon that represents the managed Backup Exec server.
To enable communications with the managed Backup Exec server
- Start BEUtility on the central administration server.
- Select a paused managed Backup Exec server from either a Backup Exec server group or from All Backup Exec Servers.
- In the task pane, under CASO Tasks, click Enable Communications with the Managed Backup Exec Server.
- Click Yes to confirm the stopping and restarting of the Backup Exec services.
- When the operation finishes, click Close.
