Unable to load user preferences
This error message may appear because of either of the following reasons:
You have not configured your web browser to treat Enterprise Vault Search as a trusted site.
The Enterprise Vault Search server is not responding.
To find the reason for the error, make sure that your browser is configured to treat Enterprise Vault Search as a trusted site. The procedure for this varies from one browser to another, but the following is for Internet Explorer.
To configure Internet Explorer to trust Enterprise Vault Search
- Find the Enterprise Vault Search server name.
If you use a mail client such as Outlook, right-click the pane where Enterprise Vault Search should appear and then click Properties. The Address (URL) field should provide the address of Enterprise Vault Search.
If you use a browser, the Enterprise Vault Search server name is in the address bar.
The address is typically as follows:
https://server_name/EnterpriseVault/search
For example:
https://evs.yourcompany.com/EnterpriseVault/search
- Open Internet Explorer.
- On the Tools menu, click Internet options.
- Click the Security tab.
- Click Trusted sites, and then click Sites.
- Enter the name of the Enterprise Vault Search server, and then click Add. For instance, in the example above, the server name is evs.yourcompany.com.
- Close the Trusted sites dialog box, and then close the Internet Options dialog box.
If your browser treats Enterprise Vault Search as a trusted site and you continue to see this error, your Enterprise Vault administrator should be able to resolve the issue.
