Configuring a storage server for a Media Server Deduplication Pool
Configure in this context means to configure a NetBackup media server as a storage server for a

The load balancing servers, if any. |
When you configure the storage server, the wizard also lets you create a disk pool and storage unit.
Prerequisite |
For a 96-TB , you must create the required directories before you configure the storage server. |
To configure a NetBackup storage server for a Media Server Deduplication Pool
- In the NetBackup Administration Console, select either NetBackup Management or Media and Device Management.
- In the right pane, click Configure Disk Storage Servers.
The Storage Server Configuration Wizard Welcome panel appears.
- On the Welcome panel, select Media Server Deduplication Pool from the drop-down menu.
The types of storage servers that you can configure depend on the options for which you are licensed.
The following is an example of the wizard panel:
After you select Media Server Deduplication Pool, click Next. The Add Storage Server wizard panel appears.
- On the Add Storage Server panel, select or enter the appropriate information.

Media server
Select the media server that you want to configure as the storage server.
You can add deduplication load balancing servers on the next wizard panel.
Username
Enter the user name for the NetBackup Deduplication Engine.
Password
Enter the password for the NetBackup Deduplication Engine.
Confirm password
To confirm the password, re-enter the password.
After you enter the information, click Next.
The Storage Server Properties panel appears.
- On the Storage Server Properties panel, enter or select the properties for the deduplication storage server.

After you click Next, the behavior depends on whether you have media servers installed, as follows:
- On the Deduplication Load Balancing panel, select other NetBackup media servers to use for deduplication. Selecting load balancing servers is optional.
