Reassigning entitlements to hosts
Using the License Management Service you can reassign the entitlements that are assigned to a host. Reassigning entitlements can be required for multiple reasons such as, you have purchased new licenses and want to assign them to hosts that have older entitlements. Or when the host no longer has the InfoScale product installed on it, or is obsolete you can reassign the entitlements to another host. To view the currently assigned entitlement for a host, click on the number in the Entitlements assigned column in the host row on the Host tab.
If required, use the filter, refresh, and toggle selection menu to locate the appropriate hosts.
There are three methods to reassign entitlements to hosts. Choose whichever method is convenient for you.
Method 1: From the License management menu, on the Hosts tab, select the host and reassign the entitlement. To reassign entitlement IDs from the License management menu:
Method 2: From the Entitlements tab in the Entitlements menu, select the entitlement and reassign the hosts that are attached to it. To reassign entitlement IDs from the Entitlements menu:
Method 3: From the License cores usage tab in Entitlements menu. Select the InfoScale product and then reassign the entitlement to the host. To reassign entitlements to hosts from the License cores usage tab
In certain situations, a host might have partially expired or partially assigned entitlements. This takes place when the host was assigned to multiple entitlements and one or more entitlements have expired or are unassigned. Based on the scenario, the right-click operation on the host has the following options:
For partially expired:
Reassign all entitlement
Reassign expired entitlement. This option reassigns only expired entitlements.
For partially assigned:
Reassign all entitlement
Assign entitlement. This option assigns only unassigned cores.
