Flex Appliance 2.1.1 new features, enhancements, and changes

The following list describes the new features, enhancements, and changes in the Flex Appliance 2.1.1 update:

  • To modernize our terminology, Veritas has begun to replace certain outdated terms with more current terms. Flex Appliance now uses "primary server" instead of "master server."

    Note:

    As Veritas continues to update its terminology, the deprecated terms and the new terms may be used interchangeably.

  • LDAP users are now supported on the Flex Appliance Console.

  • You can now use smart cards or certificates for user validation with a remote user domain.

  • Flex Appliance now includes an air gap solution for NetBackup WORM storage server instances version 16.0 and later. You can configure an isolated recovery environment to restrict network access to the protected data except during the timeframe when data replication occurs. This air gap helps to protect against ransomware and malware.

  • You can now remove multiple users from the Flex Appliance Console at the same time.
