Configuring Veritas Data Deduplication with WORM using GUI

This section describes how you can configure Veritas Data Deduplication with WORM using the Access Appliance GUI.

To configure Veritas Data Deduplication

  1. Log on to the Access Appliance application.

    Select the Quick Actions icon present on the dashboard page, and navigate to Provision Storage > Storage for NetBackup > Veritas Data Deduplication. Click Next. You have to use this option if any instance of Veritas Data Dedupication is already present on the cluster.

    Or, navigate to Settings > Veritas Data Deduplication Management. Click Configure. This option is available only if no Veritas Data Dedupication instances are present on the cluster.

    If you want to configure lockdown mode, refer to the About lockdown modes section in the Access Appliance Administrator's Guide.

  2. Under the Activate Policy tab, enter the required details to activate the policy. Specify the maximum and minimum retention period. The retention period range is between 1 hour and 60 years.
  3. Select the storage pools and click Activate policy.

    The Veritas Data Deduplication policy is activated.

  4. In the Provision storage page, select the Veritas Data Deduplication (WORM) policy and specify the storage requirements. Enter the required information.

    From the dropdown menu, choose the relevant Veritas Data Deduplication policy (WORM)

    Storage size

    Mention the capacity for Veritas Data Deduplication storage (size should be less than 1.2 PiB)

    Username

    Specify the username to be used

    Password/Confirm Password:

    Enter the password for the above username

    VIP (Virtual IP address)

    Specify a free virtual IP from the cluster (this IP should not be used by any protocol on the cluster). You can find this IP using the network IP address command.

    Click Provision storage.

    View the Recent Activity panel for the status of the task.
