Changing the virtual IP address used by the NetBackup client

You can alter the virtual IP address of the NetBackup client. This address is a highly-available virtual IP address in the cluster.

Note:

Configure the virtual IP address using the Backup> virtual-ip set command so that it is different from all of the other virtual IP addresses, including the console server IP address and the physical IP addresses that are used to install Access Appliance. Use the Network> ip addr show command to display the currently assigned virtual IP addresses on Access Appliance.

See the backup_virtual-ip(1) man page for detailed examples.

To change the virtual IP address used by NetBackup

  • Configure the virtual IP address of NetBackup on Access Appliance.
    Backup> virtual-ip set ipaddr [device]

This command configures the built-in NetBackup client to use ipaddr as its virtual IP address and device as the network interface. A network mask can be provided with the IP address as the prefix length for the ipaddr.
