Connecting additional shelves to an appliance that already has two operating shelf
To connect additional shelves to an appliance that already has two operating shelf
- Remove and reconnect the SAS-3 cables to the correct I/O module ports as shown in the figure. Use the two new SAS-3 cables that ship with each storage shelf.
- Connect power cords between the new storage shelves and separate Power Distribution Units (PDUs) in the rack.
- Turn on the storage shelf that is farthest from the appliance. Let the shelf initialize for a few minutes.
- Turn on the other storage shelves, in sequence. Do not turn on all of the shelves at once.
- Verify that the new shelves function correctly.
