Overview
Several procedures are involved in the process of adding one or more storage shelves to an existing appliance that does not have any storage shelves. New components inside the chassis are required as described in this appendix.
An appliance that does not have storage shelves needs additional components to support the external storage shelves.
The 5250 Expansion Storage Kit contains the following required hardware components:
Eight, 32Gb, Dual in-line memory modules (DIMMs)
The procedures in this appendix explains the tasks which are required to be performed to add one or more storage shelve.
These tasks must be performed in the order that is provided.
