Operational notes
This topic explains important aspects of the Appliance Management Server 2.0 release that may not be documented elsewhere.
The following list contains the notes and the known issues that apply for this release:
If you add a new user on NetBackup Appliance 5.0 or later and grant them the AMS role, the new user must change their password before they can sign in to the Appliance Management Console. If they do not change their password, the following message appears when they attempt to sign in:
"User authentication failed. Please enter valid user name and password. If problem persists contact your System Administrator."
To avoid or resolve this message, change the AMS user's password from the NetBackup Appliance Shell Menu. Then try again.
If you install one of the following maintenance releases on a NetBackup appliance, the new MR version does not show on the Home page of the Appliance Management Console. In addition, daily appliance capacity updates are not sent to the AMS.
Version 4.0 MR1, MR2, MR3, or MR4
Version 4.1 MR1, MR2, MR3, or MR4
Version 5.0.0.1 MR1 or MR2
To resolve this issue, register your agent appliance with the AMS again.
When you upgrade a NetBackup appliance to version 4.1, information about appliance capacity and add-ons or EEBs is not updated. To resolve this issue, register your agent appliance with the AMS again.
