Overview of using the Ingest Connector

Using the Ingest Connector is a three-step process, as Table: The Ingest Connector process shows.

Step	Action
Step 1	Create a logical evidence file using Guidance Software's® EnCase® products or another computer forensics tool. Alternatively, you can create a full evidence file or EnCase evidence file and use the Ingest Connector EnScript® file to create a map file for the file system that the Ingest Connector can use to access the evidence.
Step 2	Open the logical evidence file or map file and select files to be copied.
Step 3	Copy the files to a vault or to a disk location.
