Re-registering the product key
During the registration process the registration key is locked with the host name on which License Management Service is installed and configured. Later if the registration key is corrupted or deleted, then you need to regenerate and re-register the key. For re-registration, you can use the backup copy of the .alf file that was generated while registering for the fist time. You can also generate a new registration file on the License Analytics Service (LAS) portal if required.
During the period between the corruption or deletion of the registration key and the re-registration process, you can continue to perform operations, however an alert message is displayed on the UI at every page load.
To re-register the product registration key
- Log on to the License Management Service console from the host on which the registration key details need to be refreshed.
- Click Settings > Product registration.
- Click Copy to clipboard to copy the host lock string.
