Dealing with retention folder issues
In an archive that has developed retention folder issues, work with the user to move the items out of the conflict folders into suitable folders elsewhere in the archive. For example, suppose that the user has created a conflict folder called Money1 by renaming a mailbox folder Finance to Money. You might move the items from the Money1 folder to the new Money folder. Then you can delete the Money1 folder.
Where retention folder issues exist, Enterprise Vault can potentially assign the wrong retention categories to the items and so delete them prematurely. For example, the items that were previously in a retention folder but are now in a conflict folder may acquire retention categories that allow Enterprise Vault to expire them sooner than you had planned. To safeguard against this, you can choose to disable Storage Expiry automatically in any archive where these issues arise.
