How conflict folders affect shortcut processing
Normally, if an Outlook user moves a shortcut from one mailbox folder to another then, during shortcut processing, Enterprise Vault automatically moves the archived item to the corresponding folder in the archive. However, this is not the case when the shortcut is to an archived item in a conflict folder. Regardless of where the user moves the shortcut in the mailbox, the archived item remains in the conflict folder.
This behavior persists even after you have fixed the retention folder issues. So, you can move the archived items out of a conflict folder and then delete this folder, but moving the mailbox shortcuts to these items still has no effect on their placement in the archive.
