How the Move Archive wizard deals with conflict folders
The Enterprise Vault Move Archive wizard lets you move content from existing Domino and Exchange mailbox archives, and from Domino and Exchange journal archives, to new or existing archives in other vault stores. If you use Move Archive to move content between archives in which there are conflict folders, the consequences are as follows:
Move Archive does not report any issues with the conflict folders.
Enterprise Vault does not consider that a conflict folder in the source archive is a conflict folder in the destination archive, after Move Archive has transferred it. So, if the user creates an Outlook mailbox folder with the same name as the transferred folder in the destination archive, Enterprise Vault links the two folders and henceforth archives items from the mailbox folder to this folder.
After Move Archive transfers the items in a conflict folder from the source archive to the destination archive, they acquire the retention settings that the destination archive has applied to them. They are no longer subject to the retention settings that you defined in the source archive.
If the conflict folder is in the destination archive rather than the source archive, but if the source archive contains a folder with the same name as the conflict folder in the destination archive, Move Archive adds the items from the source folder to the conflict folder in the destination archive.
