This article is to understand how to find the version or build number for Backup Exec
Method 1 (To find the version using Windows Programs and Features)
1) Open Program and Features
2) Look for Veritas Backup Exec under installed programs
3) Highlight / Click and Veritas Backup Exec.
Method 2 (To find the version using the Backup Exec console).
1) Click on Start window >> Veritas Backup Exec >> Veritas Backup Exec from the list
2) Click on Icon 
on the right >> Click Help and Documentation >> Click on About Backup Exec.

Method 3 (Backup Exec Executable File Version Information)
In Windows Explorer, Navigate to the Backup Exec installation directory and review the Properties > Details > File Version of BackupExec.exe or Beserver.exe.
