Upgrading, modifying or patching third party software used by the Veritas eDiscovery Platform

Problem

The third party applications used by Veritas eDiscovery Platform (eDP) generally cannot be updated or patched outside of upgrading eDP.  The third party applications are version specific to eDP and if updated or patched will may eDP to function incorrectly or not at all.

Solution

Veritas assesses each release for vulnerabilities and remediates issues based on severity. Critical issues are addressed through a hotfix. Lower severity issues are addressed as part of cumulative hotfix or future release.

Below are the most common third party applications and their upgradeability.  Please note this is not a complete list of third party applications used by eDP.

Amazon Corretto: Cannot be upgraded or modified

MySQL: Cannot be upgraded or modified

Java:  Minor updates can be applied to eDP version 8.2 and later.  Please contact technical support for further information and reference KM article 100038911

Apache/Tomcat: Cannot be upgraded or modified.

PrizmDoc components: Cannot be upgraded or modified. (Including Node.js and MongoDB)
