About storage unit groups for OpenStorage
You can use a storage unit group as a backup destination for OpenStorage storage. A storage unit group must contain only the storage units that have the same type of OpenStorage appliance as the storage destination.
Storage unit groups avoid a single point of failure that can interrupt backup service.
The best storage savings occur when a backup policy stores its data in the same deduplication destination disk pool instead of across multiple disk pools. For this reason, the Storage unit selection uses the least amount of storage. All of the other methods are designed to use different storage every time the backup runs. Veritas recommends that you select the method for the Storage unit selection type.
