Supported upgrade paths
You can upgrade from versions 3.1 and 3.2 to version 3.2.100. If you upgrade from version 3.1 to version 3.2.100 directly, you can perform only a parallel upgrade; rolling upgrade is not supported. If you upgrade from version 3.2 to version 3.2.100, you can perform either a rolling or a parallel upgrade.
Rolling upgrade minimizes the service and application downtime by limiting the downtime to the time it takes to stop and restart the NetBackup services on the cluster nodes.
In a parallel upgrade, all the nodes in the cluster are upgraded and restarted simultaneously and the services downtime is part of the overall upgrade duration.
