While a DiskRes resource configured in a service group is mounted, a disk rescan may be called from any node in the cluster. On the node where the rescan is called, the Disk Management tool prompts you to initialize the disk. If you click OK and if the disk is mounted on a different node, an error message is displayed and no further action is taken. However, if you click OK and if the disk is mounted on the same node, which happens in the case of a failover, the disk gets formatted and all the data on the disk is lost. |
