Description
Follow these steps to recover a VMware vCenter Virtual Machine (VM); Windows-based, or a vCenter Appliance (vCSA):
- Delete credentials from NetBackup for the vCenter that is being recovered.

- Disassociate the ESXi server targeted for the restore from the vCenter.
- See 3rd Party Link, VMware KB article: https://kb.vmware.com/kb/2038838
- Add Restore ESXi credentials to NetBackup.
- See Related Articles below for alternative solutions.
- Proceed with the vCenter VM restore, specifying the target vCenter as "None" and choosing the target ESXi server selected in the previous steps.
- Power on the restored vCenter VM.
- Add the ESXi server back to the restored vCenter if necessary.
- Add vCenter credentials back to NetBackup.
- Delete credentials from NetBackup for the Restore ESXi used in step 3 above.
