Problem

To enable Client-side Deduplication under the deduplication option environment, Backup Exec requires a restart of Backup Exec services when adding a new remote server in Backup and Restore tab and creating a backup job with Client Side Deduplication.

Note 1: Client-side Deduplication is enabled by default.
Note 2: Client-side Deduplication is based on Direct Access Sharing which enables Backup Exec Remote Agent to directly accesses the device without Backup Exec Job Engine Service.
