Problem

Can port 1556 for PBX be changed to a different port for a third-party application?
 

Solution

Port number 1556 is assigned to Veritas for PBX by IANA.

The PBX port is a common configuration across hosts/tiers and Veritas products.  Changing the PBX port number has deployment-wide consequences.

Since NetBackup 7.0 the PBX port number is hard-coded to 1556 in NetBackup, and it cannot be changed.
