About the upgrade procedure
Upgrade from Enterprise Vault 12.x management pack to 14.0 management pack is not supported. You need to import the Enterprise Vault 14.0 management packs for a new installation.
After you have imported the Enterprise Vault 14.0 management packs, you may see two nodes if you have both Enterprise Vault 14.0 and 12.x management packs:
Veritas Enterprise Vault - Enterprise Vault
Veritas Enterprise Vault - Enterprise Vault 12
After upgrading Enterprise Vault to release 14.0 or later, all the discoveries and performance data gets deleted from the 12.x management packs; however, existing alerts and events from 12.x remain. It is recommended to delete the Enterprise Vault 12.x management packs and use only the Enterprise Vault 14.0 management packs. All the customizations made in the Enterprise Vault 12.x management packs need to be redone on Enterprise Vault 14.0 management packs.
To delete the previous Enterprise Vault management packs
- In the Operations console, click the Administration button.
- In the Administration list, click Management Packs.
- In the Management Packs pane, right-click the Veritas Enterprise Vault 12 Reports management pack and then click Delete.
- In the Management Packs pane, right-click the Veritas Enterprise Vault 12 management pack and then click Delete.
If any other management packs depend on the Enterprise Vault pack, a "Dependent Management Packs" error message appears. Before you can continue, you must first take a backup copy of the dependent packs and then either delete them or edit them to remove their dependency on the Enterprise Vault pack.
