Using the OData service with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
The following instructions are for Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
To use the OData service with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Open Report Builder.
- Add a new datasource as an XML connection type.
- In the Connection string box, specify the URL for the data feed as follows:
http://server_name/CAReporting/OData/dataset_name(parameter=value)?$format=application/atom+xml
For example:
http://ca.mycompany.com/CAReporting/OData/Customers(customerID=1)?$format=application/atom+xml
- Provide credentials to connect to the data source.
- Click OK.
- Add the dataset using the above mentioned datasource.
- Select Use a dataset embedded in my report.
- Select the dataset from the list.
- Set the query as follows:
<Query> <ElementPath IgnoreNamespaces="true"> feed{}/entry{}/content{}/properties </ElementPath> </Query> - Click Refresh Fields.
- Use the new dataset as reporting data for the SSRS report.
