VIRTUALIZATION_HOSTS_SECURE_CONNECT_ENABLED for servers and clients

The VIRTUALIZATION_HOSTS_SECURE_CONNECT_ENABLED option enables the validation of virtualization server certificates using its root or intermediate certificate authority (CA) certificates.

By default, the VIRTUALIZATION_HOSTS_SECURE_CONNECT_ENABLED option is set to UNDEFINED.

The security certificate validation is enabled for RHV and Nutanix AHV servers, but is disabled for VMware servers.

Note:

In a scenario where an external CA can be configured for one virtualization server, but not for the other, two separate backup hosts must be used. The VIRTUALIZATION_HOSTS_SECURE_CONNECT_ENABLED option must be set to YES for the backup host where the external CA can be configured. The option must be set to NO for the other backup host.

Table: VIRTUALIZATION_HOSTS_SECURE_CONNECT_ENABLED information

Usage

Description

Where to use

On NetBackup primary server or all access hosts.

How to use

Use the nbgetconfig and the nbsetconfig commands to view, add, or change the option.

Use the following format to enable certificate validation for the RHV, VMware, or Nutanix AHV servers:

VIRTUALIZATION_HOSTS_SECURE_CONNECT_ENABLED = YES

Equivalent Administration Console property

No equivalent exists in the NetBackup Administration Console host properties.
