Arctera Insight Information Governance Release Notes
What's new in Arctera Insight Information Governance
The following features, enhancements, or changes are now available in Information Governance 7.2. or after upgrading to Information Governance 7.2 from previous versions.
Customers can now integrate Information Governance with third-party applications to trigger data remediation workflows via API, enabling seamless orchestration across platforms. Alternatively, users can upload CSV files containing bulk remediation inputs for large-scale data handling. This automation reduces manual intervention, speeds up response times, and improves operational efficiency.
Server Pools help scale out scanning operations across multiple servers, improving performance during high-volume data discovery. They also introduce redundancy to ensure continuity in the event of server failure. With Server Pools, scan cycle times are more predictable and resource allocation becomes more flexible.
Integration with CyberArk enables automated credential rotation for Information Governance components, eliminating the risks of static passwords. This minimizes manual password management and aligns with enterprise security best practices. It enhances overall product security by reducing the potential for credential-related breaches.
MIP labels can now be retrieved during metadata scans without requiring full data classification. This change significantly reduces resource consumption and allows for rapid insights into how sensitive data is labelled. Reports can then be generated based on the presence or absence of these labels, improving compliance tracking.
Customers can configure policies to monitor sensitive or risky file types such as those associated with ransomware. The system alerts on the first occurrence of such files being accessed or created on monitored shares or endpoints. This early detection mechanism helps minimize the potential spread of malicious files and facilitates immediate response.
The product now supports analysis of storage consumed by multiple file versions in SharePoint Online. Customers can identify which libraries are consuming the most space and act to retain only the latest versions. This allows for cost-saving optimizations by preventing unnecessary storage overages.
Information Governance now supports the Open Cybersecurity Schema Framework (OCSF) for logging events. Windows Event Viewer logs can be normalized and shipped to SIEM platforms using native tools. This enhances visibility, facilitates better threat detection, and supports compliance-driven event retention policies.
As part of our strategic rebranding, Data Insight is now known as Arctera Insight Information Governance. All UI components, help documentation, and reports have been updated to reflect this change. This initiative aligns with our broader vision for unified data governance under the Arctera portfolio.
Users can now configure Active Directory (AD) authentication when connecting to Dell Isilon or PowerScale filers. This eliminates the need for storing plaintext credentials and adheres to enterprise authentication standards. It provides a more secure and streamlined method for connecting to NAS systems.
The DiscoverDFS job has been enhanced to automatically resolve shares using filer aliases. This reduces the need for manual mapping and simplifies administration in environments with complex alias configurations. It ensures consistency and accuracy in share discovery across DFS namespaces.
MIP labels and AIC tags are now exposed as separate queryable objects in DQL. This allows for granular reporting and correlation of classification tags, helping identify discrepancies or mis-classifications. Customers can now build tailored reports to align with compliance and internal tagging strategies.
Information Governance now allows customers to define custom passwords for both its keystore and certificate trust store. This enables tighter control over encryption and certificate management. Enhanced credential policies further align the system with security and governance requirements.
The underlying classification engine has been upgraded to AIC version 5.1. This release includes improved accuracy in pattern recognition, additional built-in templates, and better support for international data formats. Security enhancements further ensure safe and compliant data analysis.
Report execution has been optimized to reduce run times and memory usage. Key improvements include indexing, caching, and query tuning to support large datasets. This results in faster delivery of insights with reduced system impact.
Several known issues from previous versions have been addressed in this release. Third-party libraries and dependencies have also been updated to current secure versions. These updates contribute to greater software stability and a more secure operating environment.
This release includes official support for Enterprise Vault (EV) 15.1. These integrations ensure compatibility with the latest vendor updates and enhance the product's interoperability in enterprise data ecosystems.
