Upgrading Access Appliance

The following table summarizes the steps that you need to complete to upgrade the Access Appliance:

Task	Description
Complete the pre-upgrade tasks.	Run the preupgrade tasks manually. See Performing manual preupgrade tasks. Review the guidelines if continuous replication is configured. See Performing preupgrade tasks when replication is configured. Review the guidelines if Veritas Data Deduplication server is configured without WORM storage. See Considerations for Veritas Data Deduplication server if it is configured without WORM storage. Review the guidelines if CIFS is configured in non-AD environment. See Considerations for CIFS server.
Download the software upgrade package.	For a rolling upgrade or a parallel upgrade, download the software package to one of the nodes in the cluster. For a node-by-node upgrade, download the software upgrade package to each node that you want to upgrade. See Downloading software updates directly to an Access Appliance node. Install the software update.	For a rolling upgrade or a parallel upgrade, install the software update on the node where you downloaded the upgrade package. For a node-by-node upgrade, install the software update on each node that you want to upgrade. See Installing an appliance software update on the Access Appliance.
Review the licensing requirements.	Ensure that you comply with the product licensing requirements after upgrading the appliance. See Reviewing the license requirements.
Complete post upgrade tasks	Review and complete any required or recommended tasks. For more information, see the Post upgrade tasks section of this guide. See Renewing internal certificate.
