Instant Recovery: Virtual Machine Selection screen
Perform the search operation on this screen to get a list of virtual machines that have IR-compatible backup images.
The first screen of the Instant Recovery Wizard displays 0 Virtual Machines Added. You must search for and add the virtual machines to restore (click ).

vCenter Server | Shows the vCenter server where the plug-in is installed. Note: Use the drop-down list to select the vCenter server where the VM resided when it was backed up. Note: If the plug-in is not authorized to restore VMs, this field is empty. See Authorizing the NetBackup vSphere Client (HTML5) plug-in to restore virtual machines. |
NetBackup Master Server | Use the drop-down list to select the master server that made the backup. In certain cases, the master server may not appear in the drop-down list: See A NetBackup master server is not available in the master server list of the Instant Recovery Wizard. Note: This drop-down only lists the master servers that are registered with the vCenter server selected in the vCenter drop-down. If the master server is not listed after adding it again, make sure that it is not listed in the top error message. Contact the NetBackup administrator to register the vCenter to the NetBackup master server. |
SEARCH | For the virtual machine to restore, enter the full or partial text of the following: VM display name, instance ID, DNS name, or host name. Then click . Enter an asterisk * to search the complete list. Note: This field is case-sensitive. |
Note:
Once the vCenter server and the NetBackup master server are selected (after you select the virtual machines), the pairing of the two servers is locked. If a server selection is changed, the earlier operations do not remain valid. You can reset the search parameters at any time.
The results of the search appear under Search results. Select the virtual machines and add them to restore and then click .
Note:
Selecting the NetBackup master server and vCenter server is mandatory. To select multiple virtual machines, click the check box next to each virtual machine.

Search results | Select the virtual machines for which you want to select backup images for instant recovery. |
Add Virtual Machine | Click to add the selected virtual machines. After you select and add the virtual machines, the Virtual Machines Added bar shows the total number of virtual machines that are selected and added. The maximum number of virtual machines that you can add can be set in the option on the Veritas NetBackup landing page. See Configuring settings for virtual machine recovery. Note: The maximum number of instant recovery jobs includes active instant recoveries plus the number of virtual machines being added for the recovery operations. |
Reset Search parameters | You can reset the search parameters to cancel earlier selections. |
