About NetBackup failover server support
The master server supports upgrade of clustered media servers. However, if the master server is also a media server, then the master server also supports configuration of clustered media servers. For more information about supported NetBackup versions for upgrade, refer to the NetBackup Installation Guide.
https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.DOC5332
The upgrade procedure for master and media server is the same.
