Task

Description and notes

Configure NetBackup to back up the virtual machines.

For example, the NetBackup administrator must configure the following:

  • The VMware backup host (proxy, or access host).

  • The NetBackup credentials for the vCenter server.

    Note:

    The vCenter credentials can be entered as a fully qualified domain name or IP address. Specify the vCenter server in the same way when you install the plug-in.

  • Policies of type VMware, with the Post events to vCenter option set to All Events.

The NetBackup for VMware Administrator's Guide explains how to set up VMware policies.
