Creating access and secret keys for an active directory user
You create an access and a secret key for accessing S3 buckets as an Active Directory (AD) user, not as a storage administrator.
You can create a maximum of two access and secret keys per AD user. If you reach the maximum limit of two, delete the access and the secret key, and create a new access and secret key.
If you log on to Access Appliance as a storage administrator, you can see the access keys that are created by the AD user by navigating to Settings > S3 Management > S3 User Management.
To create an access and a secret key for an AD user
- Prerequisites:
Access Appliance object server needs to be running.
AD needs to be configured.
- Create S3 Keys: Enter the AD user password.
The secret key is displayed once only, so make a note of the secret key for future use.
- Once logged on as a storage administrator, you can view the Recent Activity panel for the status of the task.
To delete an access key
- Prerequisites:
You must have created an access key.
- Select the access key that you want to delete, and right-click on Delete.
- Delete S3 Key: Enter the AD user password.
- Once logged on as a storage administrator, you can view the Recent Activity panel for the status of the task.
