InfoScale Azure agent support for Azure user-assigned managed identities
InfoScale introduces support for Azure managed identities. You can now configure InfoScale to use the user-assigned type of managed identity to authenticate Azure subscription for working with the Azure resources and services that support Microsoft Azure Active Directory (AAD) authentication.
Until this release, the InfoScale storage (AzureDisk), IP (AzureIP), and networking (AzureDNSZone) agents required the use of the InfoScale AzureAuth agent for authenticating Azure subscription using service principal credentials. With support for managed identities, these agents no longer depend on the AzureAuth agent.
A new attribute named "ManagedIdentityClientID
" is introduced in the InfoScale agents. This attribute points to the user name of the user-assigned management identity. Use this attribute to configure the InfoScale agents to directly use managed identity-based authentication.
Veritas recommends that you use the Azure managed identities instead of configuring the AzureAuth agent for authenticating the Azure subscription in your InfoScale cluster in the Azure cloud environment.
Refer to the Veritas InfoScale Bundled Agents Guide for more information about these agents.
Refer to the Veritas InfoScale Solutions in Cloud Environments guide for more information on InfoScale support for Microsoft Azure cloud environment.
